For this UAS Geospatial Science class, we have been using Pix4D with Esri Products. With these two packages combined, we have learned about cost effective ways to maximize the performance of a UAV, and show how the data can pay for itself. Nevertheless, I think it is important to look into other products such as DroneDeploy especially when mapping out construction sites. Because DroneDeploy focuses heavily on construction applications, some say it is superior in the construction industry compared to Pix4D.
Although this can be true when sharing interactive maps with clients. Pix4D enables you to map sites without internet and is better known for accuracy. Nevertheless, Drone Deploy does a fantastic job at providing deliverables depending on the type of mission sensor, type of UAV, and other key metadata that are essential to the user's needs. In both Figures 1 and 2, I have provided videos of both Pix4D and Drone Deploy for construction applications.
